Yu Hui is a NUS graduate who knew she did not want a desk bound job upon completion of her degree. She believed that the financial sector is changing and it will open up a lot of opportunities, therefore embarking her journey as a Wealth Associate.

How did you start pursuing your career?

It came as a rare opportunity to me at the point of graduation. With much zest and aspiration as a freshgrad, I wanted to see how far I could go in this career. Thus, I decided to take a leap of faith and embarked on this journey. My favorite quote till this day by Mark Twain “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. ”. 

 

What is important to you in your career? 

​In the past, I've only wanted to ensure the amount of effort I put in commensurate with the results at the end of the day. However, now I see self fulfilment, personal growth and a work-life balance as things that I treasure in my career.

 

What is great about working in IO?

The culture of IO to embrace lifelong learning, showed me that personal growth is an integral part to propel in my career.  The leaders are constantly encouraging entrepreneurial spirit and supporting new innovative ideas. Despite the substantial growth in IO over the years, I still feel the family spirit of togetherness and care.

What does the future holds for IO? 

More unique and diverse individuals to join the team! IO is expanding its service offerings and growing beyond regional which means we will get to cross learn and I am looking forward to work together.
